About the Challenge
You likely counsel your patients that 150 minutes per week of moderate-intensity activity is recommended. Now it’s your turn to walk the talk!
The Family Health Foundation of Missouri (FHFM) is hosting a month-long virtual challenge, during the month of May, meant to help you start or continue an exercise program while supporting the FHFM.
How Do I Participate?
Whether you are a medical student or practicing physician, this challenge is accessible to all! There’s no registration fee – just make a donation to the FHFM.
To get started, simply click the registration button above, and fill out the form including your donation. We will then send you a link to the challenge website where you will log your activity. Complete 150 minutes of physical activity of your choice per week beginning May 1, and you will be eligible to earn prizes!
Activities can be logged manually on the challenge website or uploaded automatically using a variety of technology platforms such as Apple Health, Fitbit, Strava, and more.
Why Support the FHFM?
Supporting the Family Health Foundation of Missouri (FHFM) allows students and residents to experience the wonder of family medicine. Your donations to the FHFM go directly to providing students and residents with externships, conference registrations, FMIG support, and several other opportunities.
Throughout my first year and especially after the burnout experienced during our Neuroendocrine block, I felt that I maybe had lost sight of the ultimate goal and got a little too caught up in my scores and academic performance. Being able to work alongside physicians like Dr. Tieman, her colleagues, and her residents, I was reminded of why I wanted to pursue medicine and specifically family medicine in the first place.
