ABOUT THE MISSOURI ACADEMY

Founded in 1947, MAFP is the only state-level medical society devoted solely to primary care and a state chapter of the American Academy of Family Physicians, one of the largest medical societies in the country.  The MAFP represents over 1,600 physicians and medical students across Missouri.  Nearly one in four office visits are made to family physicians. That is 207 million visits annually - nearly 62 million more than the next specialty! Family physicians provide the majority of care for America's underserved and rural populations. Through this site, we hope to provide useful information and resources regarding primary care in Missouri.
